Widex have just launched their newest and most technologically advanced hearing aids yet in Aberdeen & Inverness. The Widex Unique range of hearing aids was launched internationally last week and includes a full line up hearing aid types, RICs, BTEs and custom. Widex say that these are the best hearing aids that they have produced so far with some new groundbreaking features.

 

CAPTURES MORE SOUND

Widex say that the UNIQUE hearing aids capture much more of the sounds that you need, from the highs to the lows, from the loud to the very quiet. The UNIQUE captures more sound input than any Widex hearing aid to date. This new ground breaking technology provides you with a wider range of comfortable, audible sounds than any other hearing aids available.

In UNIQUE, Widex have increased the input dynamic range so that it can deliver up to 113dB SPL linearly and lowered the noise floor to 5dB SPL. In plain English, that means that you will be able to hear the  important soft sounds but also louder sounds clearly and completely free of distortion. This allows you the best possible understanding of speech in every situation that you find yourself in on a day to day basis.

PURE, CLEAN SOUND

While ensuring that you hear even the softest sound is important, that can mean that you also hear un-important soft sounds. Widex have thought about that and introduced a new feature to deal with the problem. The new range can reduce unwanted soft sounds while maintaining those very useful soft speech sounds. When you’re outdoors, UNIQUE also significantly reduces the wind noise, no matter what the prevailing weather conditions are. Meaning that you can still hear in windy conditions and you won't have to take your hearing aids off.

Hearing soft sounds is particularly important for you to understand speech, but even more important is determining which soft sounds are useful to you and which are not. UNIQUE is the only hearing aid that ensures that you hear important soft sounds while unwanted soft noises are removed. Widex have developed a very powerful Soft Level Noise Reduction system to reduce those soft noises that offer no help to while ensuring that you hear the important soft sounds, such as speech.

This feature uses the fact that speech and noise are very different, it determines the difference between speech and noise patterns working when it should without any compromise in speech intelligibility or your comfort. This new feature results in an enhanced sound quality and better comprehension of speech for you.

When prominent speech is present, the system delivers audibility of that speech, however, when there is no prominent speech, it delivers comfort.

WIDEX UNIQUE gives hearing aid users an improved hearing experience across different sound environments automatically and without your intervention. In each sound class, WIDEX UNIQUE continuously monitors whether or not there is prominent speech. The internal controller then optimises the feature setting. Widex have also introduced a new wireless accessory device, the COM-DEX. The COM-DEX is a stylish and discrete hands-free communication device. The device streams high-quality sound to your hearing aids from your smartphone. It hangs very discreetly around your neck and connects wirelessly to your hearing aids to give you a truly hands-free solution. You can also stream music and more, quickly and instantly, they have also introduced a companion app that can be used with the com dex, giving you more power and control over your hearing aids.
