Watching the TV with hearing aids

Using Technology To Enjoy The TV Together

By David Bryce on 26th September 2016

Watching the TV is best done in company, although this can be difficult for people with hearing loss. People with hearing loss tend to turn the volume up on the TV, which can be uncomfortable for the other people in the room.  This often causes some conflict and it is one of the first things that people talk about when they come to see us. Sometimes, even with hearing aids, listening to the TV can be a little difficult, different accents, bad sound quality can all have their effect.

However there are solutions that can help you hear the TV much better, let’s talk about making the TV experience a better one for you and your family and the technology that can do it.

Wireless Hearing Aid Streaming

Wireless hearing aids have dramatically changed how things work. You can now stream audio directly from the TV (and other devices) to your hearing devices. This has made watching the TV, talking on a mobile phone and listening to musicv an easier and much more pleasurable experience for people with hearing aids.

Most new hearing technology often comes equipped with the ability to stream wirelessly. These different (every hearing aid manufacturer has their own) accessory devices transmit the sound directly from your television to your hearing aids. Giving you great clarity, they also allow you to change the volume of the sound you are hearing, without changing the volume of the TV. Which means there is no more arguments about the volume any more.

Like other wireless connected devices, they offer good range which means even if you leave the room to make a cup of tea you will still be able to hear that programme or that footbal game.  The beauty of these devices is that they are versatile, they don’t just stream from your TV, most will also connect to your music system, computer and other devices.

The Answer For You?

If you are still having some difficulties with the TV using your hearing aids (if they are wireless of course) these types of accessories are definitely the answer for you. They will make your life so much easier. If you are thinking of purchasing hearing aids, we definitely recommend that you look at wireless hearing aids and onsider their accessories. They simply make life easier and deliver better communication.
