Established in 1979 by Mr Richard Bryce, Scottish Hearing Services is a family run, Independent hearing healthcare business. Over the past 30 years, Scottish Hearing Services has grown to be the largest independent family hearing aid dispensary in Scotland. We like to think that this success is attributable to our strong customer service ethic, and our simple philosophy – "Great service at a local level!" Today a second generation of Bryce run the business – Richard’s sons, David and Geoffrey. David – who has a BA degree from Robert Gordon’s University in Aberdeen and is a Fellow of his professional body – sees patients and manages the company and its growth. Meanwhile, Geoff sees patients, runs the financial side of the company and deals with NHS contracts. Geoff is also a Fellow of the Society.
The Bryce name has been associated with hearing aids in Scotland for over 35 years and three generations
After the death of their father, the brothers made the decision to expand the business. Starting with local clinics in highland towns and villages the company grew to having 4 branches and 19 clinic venues which still operate today .The company was awarded the contract by Grampian Health Board as their contracted audiological suppliers and have been so for 16 years now
The company has been honoured twice with members of staff, including David winning Audiologist Of The Year in the UK in 2010 and 2013.

Having always been around hearing aids from a very early age ( I knew the different types of aid by 10 years old as I used to spend a lot of time with my father who was also an Audiologist !!) it was something I was always interested in. Whilst at University I used to help out in my fathers small business in Aberdeen. Upon graduating I swiftly joined the family business and undertook further professional qualifications in London to become a Hearing Aid Audiologist.
In 2010 I was awarded the Audiologist of the Year as voted by patients and the company has had its other employees awarded this prestigious title again in 2013 as well as European Audiologist of The Year in 2013.Following on from myself my eldest son Christopher finished University in 2013 has joined the business and works between our George Street practice and our sister company in Rose street in Aberdeen. Away from audiology I enjoy the company of my two flat coat retrievers,cockapoo dog and tinkering with cars.
Geoff Bryce
Director
Geoff joined the family business straight from school .Instead of going to University he took his professional audiology exams at the Throat ,Nose and Ear hospital in London passing first time. Along with David Geoff started to expand the business and in particular devoted his energies to building up the Shetland practice.
In 2009 Geoff was the runner up in the Uk Audiologist of The Year as voted by patients. Often asked to give talks to various organisations Geoff splits his time between the Inverness and Aberdeen office. He also was pivotal in the company getting the contract for Grampian University hospital trust. Away from the practice Geoff enjoys watching his sons playing football and spending time with his dogs.
